Pilgrims will experience the divine energy of Manasarovar Parikrama and the challenging Dolma La Pass (5,630m).

Itinerary of Kailash Manasarovar Yatra by Helicopter

Day 01: Arrival in Lucknow & Transfer to Nepalganj

Upon your arrival in Lucknow, ideally before 1:00 PM, you will meet our local representative who will assist with your transfer to Nepalganj. The drive, covering approximately 200 kilometers, takes around four hours and crosses into western Nepal. Once you arrive in Nepalganj, check in at your hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure. This time can be used to explore the local area or simply rest after your journey.

Day 02: Flight from Nepalganj to Simikot

Early in the morning, you will be taken to Nepalganj Airport for a flight to Simikot, which typically lasts about 50 minutes. Simikot, located at an altitude of 2,910 meters, is accessible only by air, making the flight both scenic and essential. After landing, you will settle into your accommodations and spend the remainder of the day acclimatizing to the higher altitude, which is crucial for your comfort and health during the pilgrimage.

Day 03: Helicopter to Hilsa & Drive to Purang (Taklakot)

Following breakfast, you will walk to the Simikot airport and board a helicopter to Hilsa, a brief flight of around 20 minutes. Once in Hilsa, a 25–30-minute walk leads you to the Nepal-Tibet border immigration office, where you will complete entry formalities to Tibet. From there, you will drive to Purang (also known as Taklakot), located at about 4,000 meters above sea level. Upon arrival, check in to your guest house or lodge and rest for the night.

Day 04: Drive to Manasarovar Lake

After breakfast, embark on a 1.5-hour drive (covering roughly 88 kilometers) to reach the sacred Manasarovar Lake. On the way, you will perform a parikrama (circumambulation) of the lake by vehicle, absorbing the serene beauty of its turquoise waters and the surrounding Himalayan landscape. Later, you will check in at a basic guest house or lodge near Manasarovar for an overnight stay, preparing yourself for the trek to come.

Day 05: Manasarovar to Diraphuk

Today marks the beginning of the Kailash Parikrama. After breakfast, a short drive takes you to Yamadwar (Tarboche), which serves as the starting point for the trek. If needed, this is where you can hire a horse and porter. From Yamadwar, you will trek approximately 12 kilometers to Diraphuk, a journey of four to six hours depending on your pace. Those who choose not to participate in the parikrama can remain at Darchen (Mt. Kailash Base Camp) for an additional charge and await the group’s return.

Day 06: Diraphuk to Zuthulphuk via Dolma La Pass

This day presents the most challenging segment of the pilgrimage. Depart Diraphuk early to cover the roughly 22-kilometer trek to Zuthulphuk, which involves crossing the 5,630-meter Dolma La Pass. The first 6–7 kilometers up to the pass are particularly steep, but once you cross Dolma La and rest at the first tea house, the remaining route becomes more manageable. You will continue on foot until reaching Zuthulphuk, where you will stay overnight in simple accommodations.

Day 07: Zuthulphuk to Taklakot / Simikot

Begin the morning with an 8-kilometer trek (about three hours) to Chongdo, completing the final leg of the Kailash Parikrama. Vehicles will be waiting at Chongdo to take you back to Darchen, where you will rejoin any group members who did not do the trek. Afterward, drive back toward the Nepal border, clear exit formalities in Tibet, and walk into Hilsa. If weather conditions and time allow, you will take a helicopter back to Simikot the same day; otherwise, you will stay overnight in Hilsa, where accommodations are minimal.

Day 08: Flight from Simikot to Nepalganj

Weather permitting, depart Hilsa or Simikot after breakfast for the flight back to Nepalganj. The short flight offers final glimpses of the remote Himalayan region. Upon arrival in Nepalganj, you will check into your hotel and have the rest of the day free to relax or explore. It is advisable to keep any onward flights from Lucknow flexible, as weather delays can occur.

Day 09: Departure to Lucknow

After breakfast, drive approximately five hours from Nepalganj to Lucknow. Upon reaching Lucknow, you will be dropped off at your chosen location or airport for your onward journey, concluding your spiritually enriching and memorable Kailash Manasarovar Yatra.
