Detailed 18-Day Tour Itinerary
Day 1 – Departure to Ujjain – Mahakaleshwar Darshan
Board train or flight to Ujjain. Our representative receives you. Evening visit to Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga — the powerful south-facing (Dakshinamukhi) self-manifested Jyotirlinga on the banks of the Shipra River. Witness the grand Sandhyaarti.
Day 2 – Bhasma Aarti – Ujjain Sightseeing – Omkareshwar
4:00 AM: Bhasma Aarti at Mahakaleshwar — a once-in-a-lifetime pre-dawn ritual exclusive to this temple. After breakfast and Ujjain sightseeing, depart for Omkareshwar (130 km) — the 4th Jyotirlinga on a sacred island shaped like the Om symbol in the Narmada River. Evening darshan and boat ride.
Day 3 – Omkareshwar Darshan – Departure to Varanasi
Morning darshan at Omkareshwar and the Mamaleshwar Temple. After breakfast, depart for Varanasi by train or flight (overnight journey). The island of Omkareshwar also houses the Siddhanath and 24 other temples worth exploring.
Day 4 – Arrival Varanasi – Ganga Aarti – Kashi Vishwanath Darshan
Arrive in Varanasi — the world's oldest living city and the holiest city in Hinduism. Proceed for darshan at Kashi Vishwanath Jyotirlinga (also known as the Golden Temple) — the 7th Jyotirlinga, located in the ancient lanes of Kashi. Evening boat ride on the Ganga and the spectacular Ganga Aarti at Dashashwamedh Ghat — one of India's most extraordinary spiritual experiences.
Day 5 – Varanasi to Deoghar – Vaidyanath Darshan
Morning darshan at Kashi Vishwanath. Depart for Deoghar in Jharkhand (approx. 280 km). Visit Vaidyanath Jyotirlinga (also called Baidyanath or Deoghardham) — the 9th Jyotirlinga, known for its healing powers and one of the most visited Jyotirlingas in India, especially during Shravan.
Day 6 – Deoghar to Hyderabad – Departure to Srisailam
Morning darshan at Vaidyanath. Depart by flight to Hyderabad. Check in to hotel. Evening departure towards Srisailam (approx. 220 km from Hyderabad) — the sacred destination of Mallikarjuna Jyotirlinga in the Krishna River gorge of Andhra Pradesh.
Day 7 – Mallikarjuna Jyotirlinga Darshan – Srisailam
Full-day darshan at Mallikarjuna Jyotirlinga — the 2nd Jyotirlinga, also known as Dakshina Kashi (the Varanasi of the South). Located on Srisailam mountain, this sacred temple also houses the Bhramaramba Devi Shakti Peetha alongside the Jyotirlinga, making it one of the most powerful spiritual sites in South India. Visit the Srisailam Dam and reservoir.
Day 8 – Srisailam to Rameshwaram
Depart for Rameshwaram by train or flight via Chennai (overnight journey or day travel). Rameshwaram is situated on Pamban Island between India and Sri Lanka — one of India's four sacred Char Dhams. The journey itself is spectacular, crossing the famous Pamban Bridge over the sea.
Day 9 – Rameshwaram Jyotirlinga Darshan – Agni Tirtham
Full-day darshan at Ramanathaswamy Temple — the 11th Jyotirlinga and one of India's four Char Dhams. This magnificent temple has 22 holy water tanks (theerthams) inside its corridors — the longest temple corridors in Asia. Ritually bathe in the sacred Agni Tirtham (sea near the temple). Visit Dhanushkodi — the ancient city destroyed in the 1964 cyclone.
Day 10 – Rameshwaram to Mumbai – Departure to Gujarat
Depart Rameshwaram by flight to Mumbai. Brief transit in Mumbai. Evening train or flight to Gujarat for the Somnath and Dwarka leg of the yatra.
Day 11 – Dwarka – Dwarkadheesh & Nageshwar Darshan
Arrive in Dwarka — one of India's four Char Dhams. Darshan at Dwarkadheesh Temple. Afternoon visit to Nageshwar Jyotirlinga (17 km) — the 10th Jyotirlinga with the famous 25-metre Shiva statue. Also visit Gomti Ghat and Rukmini Devi Temple.
Day 12 – Somnath Jyotirlinga Darshan
Depart for Somnath (230 km). Somnath Jyotirlinga — the first and oldest Jyotirlinga, on the Arabian Sea coast. Attend the evening Aarti and sound-and-light show.
Day 13 – Somnath to Nashik – Rest Day
Morning darshan at Somnath. Depart towards Nashik (Mumbai) by overnight train. Rest day after the long Gujarat-South India journey. Optional: Nashik city sightseeing or Godavari ghats visit.
Day 14 – Trimbakeshwar → Shirdi → Grishneshwar
Early morning: Trimbakeshwar Jyotirlinga darshan (28 km from Nashik) — the unique three-faced Linga at the source of the Godavari. Rudrabhishek with Panditji. Depart for Shirdi (130 km) for Sai Baba darshan. Continue to Grishneshwar Jyotirlinga (100 km) — the 12th and final Jyotirlinga near Ellora Caves.
Day 15 – Ellora Caves – Departure to Bhimashankar
Morning: Grishneshwar darshan and visit to the spectacular Ellora Caves UNESCO World Heritage Site. Afternoon: depart for Bhimashankar (230 km). En route, pass through scenic Sahyadri hills. Evening Sandhyaarti at Bhimashankar.
Day 16 – Bhimashankar Darshan – Departure to Marathwada
4:00 AM Mangal Aarti at Bhimashankar Jyotirlinga — the sacred 6th Jyotirlinga in the Sahyadri Wildlife Sanctuary. After darshan and breakfast, depart for Parbhani / Hingoli in Marathwada (approx. 380 km) — base for Aundha Nagnath.
Day 17 – Aundha Nagnath → Parli Vaijnath → Mumbai / Pune
Morning darshan at Aundha Nagnath Jyotirlinga (Hingoli) — the 8th Jyotirlinga in magnificent Hemadpanthi architecture. Proceed to Parli Vaijnath Jyotirlinga (Beed district, 100 km) — the 9th Jyotirlinga, famous for healing blessings. After completing darshan at Parli Vaijnath, depart for Mumbai or Pune by overnight train — the 12 Jyotirlinga yatra is now complete!
Day 18 – Arrival at Home City – Tour Ends

Important Planning Note: Kedarnath
Kedarnath is accessible only from May to November — the temple is closed in winter due to heavy snow. Our team plans the 12 Jyotirlinga itinerary to ensure the Kedarnath leg falls within the temple's open season. If your preferred travel dates include winter months, we reroute the itinerary accordingly. Kedarnath can be reached by trekking (21 km) or by helicopter from Phata or Sirsi (30-40 minutes).
