Of the 12 jyotirlinga found in Maharashtra, the 5 jyotirlinga in Maharashtra tour packages from Bangalore includes Parali Vaijanath, Aundha Nagnath, Grushneshwar, Trimbakeshwar, and Bhimashankar. On a small hill, Parali Vaijanath is a stone structure encircled by a wall that guards it on all sides. According to legend, Aundha Nagnath is the eighth of the 12 jyotirlinga temples. According to legend, this temple dates back to the Mahabharata. Of the 12 jyotirlinga, Grishneshwar/Grushneshwar is the last. One of the 12 jyotirlinga is Trimbakeshwar.
The magnificent Trimbakeshwar Jyotirlinga was the first temple on our list. Near the Brahmagiri mountain and the river Gautami, around 30 kilometres from Nashik, was a stunning temple carved in black stone. 'Har Har Mahadev' screams and peaceful smiles welcomed us as we entered the temple among throngs of worshippers arriving from all around India. The temple priest informed us that Lord Shiva, Parvati, Lakshmi, and Saraswati all reside in this area.
The Bhimshankar Jyotirlinga in Pune, which we arrived at after passing over the Sahyadri mountain range, was our next destination. It is located on the banks of the river Bhima. Even the seemingly unimportant chore of buying the supplies needed from the hawkers stationed outside the temple to make offerings to Shiva (in the form of "Ardhnareeshwara") made me feel exceptionally happy.
After there, we continued on to the Grishneshwar Jyotirlinga, which is situated on the banks of an ancient pond named "Shivalay" in the Maharashtrian village of Verul, 20 km from Daulatabad and close to Aurangabad. I had read that the Grishneshwar Temple's Lingam was constructed so that the water flows eastward after the Abhishekam, unlike the other Jyotirlingas, and I had seen it firsthand that day while participating in temple rites.
Then it was our turn to go to the Aundha Nagnath Temple in Maharashtra's Hingoli district, which is home to the oldest Jyotirlinga. The Sanctum of the temple is in the basement, and we had to descend there to worship Lord Nagnath, which was the most intriguing aspect of the temple.
The Parli Vaijnath Jyotirlinga, which can be found in Maharashtra's Beed district and gets its name from the abundance of medicinal plants that surround it, was our final destination. Although I was exhausted from worldly concerns and the fact that I had to return home after this breathtakingly beautiful trip during which I not only experienced the joys of travel but also the oneness with Shiva that I had never before experienced, I felt as though the atmosphere healed my soul. The fact that everyone was touching the Lingam startled me because normally it is not permitted. But it is said that touching the Lingam here at the Parli Vaijnath temple, where Lord Shiva is known as "Vaidyanath," facilitates the healing process.
In Maharashtra, there are a total of 5 Jyotirlingas. These Lord Shiva shrines are of great religious significance and draw innumerable followers looking for blessings and peace in their spirituality.
The Jyotirlings outside of Maharashtra are Somnath, Nageshwar, Vaidyanath, Mahakaleshwar, Omkareshwar, Kashi Vishwanath, Kedarnath, Rameshwaram, and Mallikarjuna.
The price of the 12-Jyotirlinga tour package, when broken down each person, comes to about Rs. 60,000.
Out of the 12 Jyotirlingas in India, the Grishneshwar Jyotirlinga in Maharashtra is the smallest.
Ahilyabai Holkar restored the Aundha Nagnath Temple.
The five jyotirlingas in Maharashtra are Aunga Nagnath, Bhimashankar, Trimabakeshwar, Grishneshwar, and Parali Vajinath. Book Bangalore to 5 jyotirlinga in maharashtra tours with jyotirlingainmaharashtra.com.
