The title "Jyotirlingam" relates to the Radiant Sign of the All-Powerful Shiva because Jyoti means "radiance" and lingam is the "Image or Sign" of Shiva. In India, there are twelve Jyotirlingas.
Parali Vaijanath, Aundha Nagnath, Grushneshwar, Trimbakeshwar, and Bhimashankar are among the 12 jyotirlinga in Maharashtra that are included in the 5 jyotirlinga in Maharashtra trip packages from Surat. The stone structure known as Parali Vaijanath is situated on a small hill and is fortified by a wall on all sides. Of the twelve jyotirlinga temples, Aundha Nagnath is regarded as the eighth. According to belief, the Mahabharata predates the construction of this temple.
Trimbakeshwar Jyotirlinga, a magnificent temple, was the first on our list. A majestic black stone temple, built near to the Brahmagiri mountain and the Gautami river, was located not far from Nashik, at a distance of around 30 kilometres. This is where Lord Shiva, Parvati, Lakshmi, and Saraswati all reside, according to the temple priest.
We continued on to the Bhimshankar Jyotirlinga in Pune after traversing the Sahyadri mountain range. It is positioned alongside the Bhima River. Even the seemingly unimportant chore of buying the items needed from the merchants stationed outside the temple to make offerings to Shiva (in the form of "Ardhnareeshwara") made me feel really happy.
From there, we continued on to the Grishneshwar Jyotirlinga, which is 20 km from Daulatabad and is close to Aurangabad. It is situated there on the banks of an old pond named "Shivalay" in the Maharashtrian town of Verul. The Grishneshwar Temple's Lingam, unlike the other Jyotirlingas, was constructed so that the water flows eastward after the Abhishekam, and I had seen this personally that day while taking part in temple rites.
It was now our turn to journey to the Aundha Nagnath Temple, home to Maharashtra's oldest Jyotirlinga. The Sanctum, which was in the temple's basement and required us to go there in order to worship Lord Nagnath, was its most notable feature.
The Parli Vaijnath Jyotirlinga, which is situated in the Beed district of Maharashtra and gets its name from the abundance of medicinal plants that surround it, was our next destination. Even though I was exhausted from my worries about the outside world and had to return home after this breathtakingly wonderful trip during which I not only experienced the joys of travel but also a oneness with Shiva that I had never before experienced, I felt as though the atmosphere was healing my soul. Since touching a Lingam is typically forbidden, I was startled to see that everyone was doing it. However, it is claimed that touching the Lingam at this temple, where Lord Shiva is venerated as "Vaidyanath," facilitates the healing process.
Maharashtra is home to five Jyotirlingas in total. These Lord Shiva shrines are of great religious significance and are frequently visited by devotees looking for peace and blessings from the hereafter.
Outside of Maharashtra, there are Jyotirlings named Somnath, Nageshwar, Vaidyanath, Mahakaleshwar, Omkareshwar, Kashi Vishwanath, Kedarnath, Rameshwaram, and Mallikarjuna.
Calculated for each person, the price of the 5-Jyotirlinga tour comes to about Rs. 60,000.
The smallest of India's 5 Jyotirlingas is located in Maharashtra and is named for Grishneshwar.
Ahilyabai Holkar completed the renovation of the Aundha Nagnath Temple.
The five jyotirlingas in Maharashtra are Parali Vajinath, Aunga Nagnath, Bhimashankar, Trimabakeshwar, and Grishneshwar. There are Swastika Holiday excursions accessible from Surat to the five Jyotirlingas in Maharashtra.
Depending on the time of year and any special events, Jyotirlinga crowd sizes can vary. In general, the crowds at most Jyotirlingas are manageable, but if you want to avoid them, it's preferable to come during the week or outside of peak travel times.
Pune is a good place to begin your trip because it is the largest city that is closest to Bhimashankar.
