Itinerary of Chardham Yatra Package for 8 nights 9 days

Day 01: Haridwar to Barkot (210kms/7-8hr) Height: 1352 MTS

Drive to Barkot. In time Arrival in Barkot. Overnight stay at Barkot.

Barkot Weather - Generally pleasant in summer, the temp ranges from 25-30 degree Celsius, Winter: The Days are pleasantly cool but the nights are cold, the temp ranges from 10 deg to 05 deg.

Day 02: Barkot to Yamunotri to Barkot 36kms drive & 6kms Trek (one side) Height: 3235 MTS

Early morning after breakfast drive to Jankichatti/Phoolchatti-star trek from here to Yamunotri (6kms) (Either by walk or by horse or by Doli at own cost). After taking bath in JamunabaiKund's warm water and having "Darshan" of "Yamunaji" return to Jankichatti by trek. Later drive towards Barkot, Overnight stay at Barkot.

Yamunotri Weather - During summer, the maximum temp is 18 degrees and the minimum is 10 degrees celsius. The days are pleasantly cool but the nights are cold.

Day 03: Barkot to Uttarkashi (100kms/4hr) Height: 1352 MTS

Morning after breakfast, drive to Uttarkashi. Check into the hotel arrival in Uttarkashi. Visit KashiVishwanath Temple in Uttarkashi. Overnight stay at Uttarkashi.

The town has a number of ashrams, temples. The name of the town is explanatory of its similarity to and location north of the city of Kashi which is popularly known as Varanasi. Like the town of Varanasi, the town of Uttarkashi is located on the banks of River Ganga.

Vishwanath temple - Vishwanath temple is one of the oldest Shiva temples in North India. The temple was re-constructed in 1857 by Maharani Khaneti Devi of Tehri State in the ancient architectural style. Situated right at the heart of the town. A massive iron trident, an emblem of divine mother's, stands erected and prayed since eternity within the temple complex. A small shrine of Ganeshji, SakshiGopal, and Markandeya Rishi are also present in the temple complex.AkhandJyoti as well as AkhandAbhishek, special aarti at morning and evening are offered. As per SkundaPuran, Uttarkashi is called 'Saumya Varanasi', which is the abode of Lord Shiva in Kaliyug and forms a part of twelve Jyotirlingas.

Shakti temple - This is opposite the Vishwanath temple. The Shakti temple houses a tremendous 'Trishul' that measures 6 meters tall and a circumference of 90 cms. at the bottom. Though there may be different views regarding making of this, the upper part of it seems to be made up of iron and the lower one is of copper. According to the epics, this Shakti was thrown on the devils by the Goddess Durga (Shakti), hence it gets its name. Since then this Shakti is erected over here.

Uttarakashi Weather: Normally hot in summers, but not scorching hot as in plains as the temperature ranges from 30-35 degree Celsius but nights is cool, Cold in winters.

Day 04: Uttarkashi to Gangotri to Uttarkashi (100kms/3-4 each side) Height: 3048 MTS

Morning (packed breakfast) drive to Gangotri, en route at Gangnani take a holy dip in Garam Kund, further drive to Gangotri via beautiful Harsil Valley. Harsil is famous for its natural beauty and for the majestic views of the Deodar trees and mountains. On arrival at Shree Gangotri take a holy dip in the sacred river Ganges which is also called Bhagirathi at its origin. After this, perform Pooja and Darshan, then relax for a while in these pleasant surroundings. Later drive back to Uttarkashi. Overnight stay at Uttarkashi. Gangotri Temple: This temple was erected in the 18th Century by Gorkha General Amar Singh Thapa. This is located on the right bank of Bhagirathi.

Weather of Gangotri - The summer temperature can reach as high as 20° Celsius. Summer nights may remain somewhat cool with minimum temperature of 10° Celsius. During summer, light woolens are needed for visiting Gangotri. Winter season becomes quite freezing in Gangotri. Gangotri will be covered by sheets of ice during winter. Pilgrim centers remain closed all along the winter due to heavy snow falls.

Day 05: Uttarkashi to Guptkashi (220kms/8-9hr) Height: 1319 MTS

Drive to Guptkashi via Moolgarh & Lambgoan

En route you can see Mandakini river at Tilwara. Mandakini is one of the main rivers which originates from Kedarnath. Drive alongside the river to reach Guptakashi, visit ArdhNarishwar Temple in Guptakashi. Check into the hotel arrival in Guptakashi. Overnight stay at Guptakashi.

Guptkashi Weather - pleasant in summer, the temperature ranges from 25-30 degree Celsius. Very cold in winters.

Day 06: Guptkashi to Kedarnath to Guptkashi (30kms by road & 19kms Trek one way) Height: 3384 MTS

In the morning after breakfast enjoy Kedanrath & back your hotel. Overnight stay at Gupatkashi

By Helicopter: Morning our driver will transfer you your prebook Helipad. After Back our car will drop you at Hotel for rest.

By Trek: Morning our driver will drop you to Sonprayag and then you have to take jeeps for Gourikund& then your trek starts for kedarnathji. After darshan you follow the same & back to Sonpraag. There is big parking problem so driver will go to other palace if his contact no. not working, then you have to wait for your driver & send the massage any other driver.

Kedarnath: The shrine of Kedarnath is one of the 12 jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva, an exquisite place on the back of the majestic Kedarnath range.

Kedar means the name of Lord Shiva. Formerly, the Pandavas, after having vanquished the Kaurava in the Kurukshetra war, felt remorseful for having killed their very brothers and they sought the blessings of Lord Shiva to find redemption. He managed to avoid them time and again and while flying sought refuge at Kedarnath in the shape of a bull. Weather in Kedarnath - Because of its high heights the climatic conditions at Kedarnath is cold for the most time of the year. The summers here are cool and pleasing, while winters are harsh.

Kedarnath Weather - The temperature during summer seasons ranges between 18°Celsius. Light woolen clothes are advisable. Winter season is critical in Kedarnath with mercury falling to as low as 0°Celsius. During this time, the place experiences snowfall as well. Due to extreme climatic conditions, this time is usually avoided by the tourists.

Day 07: Guptkashi - Piplekoti (150kms/7hr) Height: 3133 MTS

Morning after breakfast check out hotel drive to Piplekoti overngiht stay at Hotel

Day 08: Piplekoti - Badrinath - Piplekoti (40kms/1hr) Height: 3133 MTS

Morning after breakfast, drive to Badrinath. Arrive in Badrinath Check-in to hotel. Pilgrims after having bath in Taptkund have the Darshan of Badrivishal & Aarti in evening. Brahamakapal is significant for PinddanShraddh of ancestors (Pitrus). Overnight stay at Badrinath. Back to drive hotel overnight at piplekoti.

Badrinath is one of the 'Ancient Four Dhams' and happens to be one of the most worshiped place of pilgrimage of the country, located at an altitude of 3,133 meters, flanked on both sides by the two mountain ranges called Nar & Narayan with the towering Neelkanth Peak forming an exquisite backdrop. This sacred place was once carpeted with wild berries. Thus the place got the name "Badri van," meaning "forest of berries.

Tapt Kund: Natural thermal springs along the bank of river Alaknanda where it is considered normal to bath before entering the temple of Badrinath.

Mana Village: The last Indian village before Tibet, and is inhabited by an Indo-Mongolian tribe.

Weather at Badrinath: Average maximum temperature will be around 18° Celsius and the average minimum is 8° Celsius. So warm and woolen clothes are hence required for a stay in Badrinath throughout the year. Winter in Badrinath is often accompanied by snow falls. Winter is very chilly with an average temperature of 5° Celsius. Due to the extreme climatic conditions, this time is usually closed for tourists.

Day 09: Piplekoti to Haridwar (165kms/7 hr)

In the morning after breakfast, drive for Haridwar. drop to Haridwar. tour comes to an end.
