Explore Nashik’s holy Panchavati area, home to Kalaram Temple, Sita Gufa, and Muktidham. Additionally, visit Shani Shingnapur, famous for its open-air shrine, and the Ranjangaon Ashtavinayak Ganesh Temple. This spiritual journey offers a deep connection to Lord Shiva, Lord Ganesha, and other revered deities, immersing you in the religious and cultural heritage of Maharashtra.
Start your spiritual trip early in the morning from Mumbai to Bhimashankar-one of the Jyotirlingas of India, which is deeply revered. The 4-5 hour drive to Bhimashankar is going to treat you to excellent landscapes. At Bhimashankar, visit the ancient temple and the serene environs absorb the spiritual energy. Later, head to Shirdi, which is about 4 hours away from Bhimashankar. Arrive in time for the evening Aarti at Saibaba Temple and thereafter stay overnight in Shirdi to rest and revive yourself for the next day.
Begin the day with an early morning Kakad Aarti at Saibaba Temple followed by a few visits to religious sites within the complex such as Dwarkamai, Chavadi, Khandoba Temple, and the Saibaba Museum. Spend the afternoon driving for about 2 hours to the Grishneshwar Jyotirlinga temple. If time permits, take the optional visit to the Ellora Caves, known for their spectacular rock-cut architecture; closed on Tuesdays. Return to Shirdi as the day ends and pass another quiet night.
Leave from Shirdi early morning and drive to Trimbakeshwar, which would take 2.5 hours of time. Spend some meaningful time at the temple of Trimbakeshwar Jyotirlinga, which is an extremely important pilgrim center. Later, visit Nashik to view the sacred Panchavati area, which contains several important temples, such as Kalaram Temple and Sita Gufa. Note that you will park near Godavari Ghat and you will have to hire a rickshaw with a local guide who can take you through the narrow streets to these temples. Afterwards, stop-over at the Muktidham Temple in Nashik which is one of the most beautiful and religiously important ones before turning back to Shirdi for night.
On your last day, go and visit Shani Shingnapur in the morning-a temple dedicated to Lord Shani-made famous by its unique open-air construction wherein the deity is housed in an open instead of a shrine. Then proceed to the Ranjangaon Ashtavinayak Temple, devoted to Lord Ganesha. This is the most lovely end to your spiritual sojourn. Drive back to Mumbai in time to board your onward journey or take rest after a fulfilling pilgrimage.
